With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to our beloved Georgia, who gracefully departed from this world on April 19, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a fiery soul that touched the lives of all who knew her. Georgia lived in Wallingford until she was married in 1966, then a resident of Meriden for the remainder of her life. She graduated from Lyman Hall with the class of 1964 and worked for many years as a bookkeeper.
Georgia was a woman with many passions, her first and foremost love was her precious baby cats. We take solace that she is reunited with her beloved cats. If anyone really knew Georgia, they also knew her love for the King of Rock n' Roll, Elvis Presley. She also had an incredible love for her beautiful corvettes. Orange Pumpkin and Blue Angel weren't just cars to her; they were symbols of freedom, adventure, and the thrill of the open road.
Georgia was predeceased by her parents George A Fries and Elizabeth Fries Barnikow, husband Nolan Thayne Schultz, sister Nancy Fries McGinnis and brother David a Fries Sr. She is survived by her beloved family: daughter Tracey Staback Bright, sister-in-law Sandra A. Fries, nephews and nieces: David A. Fries Jr. and wife Heather, William T. Fries with Cynthia, and Thomas T. Fries and partner Jade White, great niece and nephews: Kellie Fries, Jacob Fries, David A Fries III, Joshua Fries, Thomas Fries and Shamus Fries and her beloved friend, Linda.
At Georgia's request there will be no calling hours. Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Meriden Humane Society. The B.C. Bailey Funeral home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
